In the early day of the Society we used to meet in the Basement of Ramsden Technical College which is now part of the Huddersfield University campus, and sail in the Reservoirs above Marsden.  In 1937 the Highfields Site was acquired.

By 1939 a Boating pond had Opened and the Society was in full swing.

A 440 foot Railway was built on the site which was at Ground Level but it later years was raised up on pillars

As well as the Railway track which takes Gauges 3" 5" and 7 1/4" the site also has a road system for RC Trucks 

Saturday is the Main day of the week when members are around and the catering facilities are staffed from about 11am.  

Thursday mornings are also becoming a gathering day at Highfields and  members are usually about from 11am 

Members have access to the site and all its facililities 24 x 7 365 days so once you are a member feel free to come and go as you please.
